Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Phnom Penh arrival 
Upon arrival and after clearing immigration and customs, be transferred by local guide of Cambodia Tours to hotel for check in. Our tour guide will take you around and showing the location of Phnom Penh city. Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with some major sights of Phnom Penh.

Day 2: Phnom Penh City tour 
Breakfast at hotel, visit to The Tuol Sleng Prison Museum and the notorious ‘Killing Fields’ of Choeung Ek are not to be missed. A visit to these sights provides a deep insight into the painful bloody rule of the Khmer Rouge. After lunch we will enjoy the Cyclo Ride to visit private quarters of the Royal Palace are now home to the royal family and are therefore very close to the public. At the northern area of the palace grounds is Silver Pagoda, the most sacred temple in the country.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kompong Cham – Kompong Thom
Breakfast at hotel, the overland expedition begins as we depart the town and pass through Cambodia’s biggest growing rubber area to Kampong Cham. The deep contrast of lush vegetation and red surface of basaltic soil is incredible all along the way. On arrival in Kampong Cham we visit the beautiful French colonial architecture and Wat Nokhor containing the ancient temple and modern style pagoda. The following destination of our trip is Kongpong Thom. Along the way we make stop over at Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei, two hills whose names were translated as the 'man hill' and the 'woman hill'. After checking into hotel we visit some nearby villages and climb 980 steps to the top of Phnom Santuk for an impressive sunset view over the surrounding areas.

Day 4: Kompong Thom – Siem Reap
Breakfast at hotel, an early morning start to drive to the archeological sight of Sambor Prei Kuk , which is dotted with hundred pre-angkor styled temples. The road conditions are very poor, but the spectacular scenery of this ancient ruin, with a mixture of temples and forest, makes the hardship all worthwhile. We travel by roads to Siem Reap, passing the charming Khmer countryside. The town of Siem Reap is our base for visiting the world famous temples of the ancient city Angkor, which is home for the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire dating from 802 AD to 1350 AD. This stunning and extensive site sprawls through the dense jungle, over an area of 60 square miles.

Day 5:  Siem Reap – Angkor Temples
Early morning, we enjoy the Tuk Tuk to the jungle-covered temple of Ta Phrom and come back to hotel for breakfast at 07:30. And visit the biggest religious temple in the world - the magnificent Angkor Wat. Built by Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is considered a masterpiece of Khmer architecture. We might have a short break for lunch at somewhere (Borey Sovann Restaurant is recommended), continue your temple exploration today at Angkor Thom City by west gate. From the enigmatic faces of Bayon temple to the intricate bas reliefs of the Terrace of the Elephants, Angkor Thom is filled with fabulous monuments.

Day 6: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples – Floating Village
Breakfast at hotel, drive to Banteay Srei, it is also one of the most beautiful temple in Angkor complex. Built in 967 AD by Jayavarman V's guru, it showcases the most exquisite, deep and complex carvings in all Khmer architecture and on the way back visit to Preah Khan, which is similar to Ta Prom, but the architecture is bigger and less tourist. Late afternoon, 16:00 visit to Floating Village and take an excursion in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. We will see the Sunset on the food of Phnom Krom.

Day 7: Siem Reap – Koh Ker – Beng Melea – Siem Reap
Breakfast at hotel, transfer directly to the remote Beng Mealea temple through the typical Khmer countryside (60Kms from Siem Reap).There is a lot to see in the approximately 2 hours drive as it takes you through many lively villages and along kilometers of rice paddies. Explore the long abandoned temple (11th century), strangled by the jungle. A further 1 hr drive brings you to Koh Ker, situated in the northeast of Siem Reap. Discover the long abandoned temples in the forests of northern Cambodia. Also known as Chok Gargyar, it served as the capital of Jayavarman IV (reigned 928-42). His son and successor Harshavarman I moved the capital back to Angkor in 944. There are a remarkable number of religious buildings in the Koh Ker region, considering the short space of time that it was the capital of the empire.  There are more than 30 major structures and experts believe there may have been as many as 100 minor sacred buildings in the region. It was also a prolific period for gigantic sculpture and several of the most impressive pieces in the National Museum in Phnom Penh come from Koh Ker, including a huge garuda (half-man, half-bird creature).

Day 8: Siem Reap – Battambang
Breakfast at hotel, transfer by private vehicle, escorted by guide to Battambang, the second largest city in Cambodia, Battambang is located on both the highway and railroad linking Phnom Penh with Thailand. On arrival, we enjoy a walk around this colonial styled town and visit some outlaying hilltop temples as well as the infamous cave, which used as execution field under the Khmer Rouge rule. There are also some opportunities to take a drive along tiny winding tracks into some small villages (Ancient house), and Enjoy the Bamboo Train where tourists hardly ever venture.

Day 9: Battambang
Breakfast at hotel, apart from the scenic countryside, this town has a lively market place and many Angkorian as well as post Angkorian sites, some of which are Wat Ek and Wat Toul Bassaet, Phnom Sampov, the BAT CAVE and the Khmer Villages.

Day 10: Battambang – Phnom Penh
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Phnom Penh by private and guide, on arrival we will take a rest and enjoy the swimming at your pool until late afternoon, visit to Central & Russian market.

Day 11: Phnom Penh – Takeo – Kep
Breakfast at hotel, the journey southwards begins as we depart Phnom Penh and make our first stop at Phnom Chisor Temple dating back from the 11th century. A 500 step path leads up to the top of the hill from where we can enjoy fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. We get on our car to the quiet town of Takeo before taking a short cruise to Angkor Borei town, located just a few kilometer navigation from the Vietnam border. There is a small museum which displays several reproductions of sculptures from the nearby ruins and few artifacts dating as far back as the 4th century. After seeing this pleasant place, we continue our boat trip to visit a pre-Angkorian style temple of Phnom Da and a nearby temple of Asram Maharosei. The steep path over some big rocks makes Asram Maharosei different from other temples in Cambodia.

Day 12: Kep – Rabbit Island – Kep
Breakfast at hotel and take a boat ride to Rabbit Island is a small beachy island about 20-40 minutes from Kep by local boat. Relatively clear, warm waters. Snorkel around the rocks. There’s no coral but lots of colorful fish. Until late afternoon, and back to Kep.

Day 13: Kep – Sihanouk Ville
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Sihanouk Ville by our private guide and car, one arrival you will free at on your own on the beaches. Sihanouk Ville are some of the most unspoiled in all of Southeast Asia although the fast growing of tourism. There are some 10 km of beach stretching the whole length of the town and dozens of small islands just a short boat ride away, which make for a perfect tropical getaway, with facilities for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving. This free day will provide you some great opportunities to soak up the sun and sea as much as you want by spending your time swimming or lazing on a beach.
